Heart Disease: the Big Cholesterol Lie

For years cholesterol has been the fall guy for heart disease  with many people being prescribed drugs such as Crestor, Lipitor, Zocor, Mevacor, Provachol, Altocor, Lesacol or any other statin.  It is not too often that a doctor will deviate from the “norm” when it comes to treating high cholesterol. But then not all doctors have the character and integrity of Dr. Dwight Lundell.

Dr. Lundell has performed over 5000 heart surgeries, he is  a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon, and he has taken the time to discover the key to freeing people from heart disease.  We are bombarded daily with statin drug commercials, mass media, marketing hype and doctors who insist cholesterol must be lowered.  Dr. Lundull’s book will open your eyes to easy to follow life changes that will save you from heart disease and the poison drugs that so many doctors will automatically prescribe to you.

Not only will you learn what works but you will discover the disturbing facts that  today’s low fat diets and that lowering cholesterol does not reduce the risk of heart disease.  Then why all the hype on reducing cholesterol with statins? MONEY!  and a distorted paradigm.  Pharmaceuticals have made the drugs, doctors prescribe them with ease based on inaccurate studies and patients easily swallow the pill hoping for a quick and easy fix.

Dr. Lundell’s book covers in detail how the most famous heart research study, the Framingham Study has led to the biggest mistake in health care.  He will show you how 41% of all deaths in America could be prevented virtually cost-free and without dangerous drugs.  You will learn how the USDA’s “Food Pyramid” is wreaking havoc on the american people.  You will get a prescription for eating out- when you know what to =look out for you can find a few healthy choices on any menu.

When you eat the average American diet and live the average American Lifestyle  would agree it is fair to say that you will live and die like an average American.  Well, then there is a 50/50 chance you will suffer from heart disease because even with the increase in statin use, low cholesterol diets and following the Government and Medical Establishments guides to healthy eating 41% of Americans die from heart disease.  If you want to live a healthier life and avoid heart disease read Dr Lundell’s book and put a few of his tips into action.  You can continue to follow the carrot or you can make a conscious decision to move away fro the herd and take control of your life.

What You Need to Know About Rosuvastatin Calcium

If you have been diagnosed with high cholesterol, your doctor may have prescribed a medication known as rosuvastatin calcium. This drug is a statin and is used when a combination of diet and exercise do not lower cholesterol levels significantly. When you use this medication and follow a healthy diet, your LDL levels of cholesterol will go down. In addition, this medication will slow the progression of atherosclerosis. This is a buildup in your arteries of plaque. Your doctor will do a comprehensive evaluation and determine if this medication is the right choice for you.

Cholesterol is made by the liver in the human body. It then enters the blood stream. This medicine is designed to block cholesterol production in the body. What you must be aware of is the fact that there are three types of cholesterol. LDL cholesterol is bad cholesterol while HDL is good cholesterol. A third substance is looked for when medical professionals check your cholesterol. They are also looking for triglycerides. Certain things make you at higher risk of having high levels of bad cholesterol.

If your family has a history of early heart disease, this is a warning sign. Your risk increases if you have diabetes or high blood pressure. Men over the age of 45 are more susceptible as are women over the age of 55. If you smoke, your risk is higher also.

When you take rosuvastatin calcium, bad cholesterol levels or LDL levels go down along with triglycerides while good cholesterol or HDL levels go up. Anyone over the age of 10 who has been diagnosed with high cholesterol may use this medication. When you lower your cholesterol, you reduce your risk of heart disease as well as hardening of your arteries. These often contribute to stroke, heart attack and vascular disease.

Use this medication in conjunction with a program that includes exercise, diet and weight control. Your doctor believes this to be the best medication for you so you should never stop taking it without discussing your concerns. There are certain people who cannot take this medication. If you are pregnant, nursing or liver disease, you can’t take it. There are others who should not take this medicine. Let your doctor know any medications you are taking also. You don’t want to make your health worse when you are trying to improve it.
